Gifts from the Old Country

There were several trips to Norway for my Grandpa Arne Aalgaard. I wouldn't be able to tell what year this was, but I think it's interesting that he's displaying gifts and treats from Norway as he returned to Minnesota. What I notice here too, is the happiness that Grandpa has. How great it is to build and maintain connections "across the pond".

I wonder if there was "smør" in that butter-thing. Do you think he took the picture himself?

What is "smor"? And as far as who took the picture, I don't know. Maybe he had a timer on the camera.

Smør means butter.

We are all indebted and grateful to Arne for the many photos and movies he took on his trips back home to Norway. He gave us a "window to the past" that we can all enjoy.
